OHL Presents League Awards

The Ontario Hockey League hosted the annual Awards Ceremony and Reception at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto on Friday to formally present the individual awards for the 2002-03 season.

The ceremony will be broadcast in Ontario on Rogers Cable on Saturday June 14 at 8:00 p.m. and repeated in come markets on Sunday June 15 at 2:00 p.m. Check your local listings for broadcast time and date in your area.


Corey Locke (pictured) of the Ottawa 67's was presented with the Red Tilson Trophy as the OHL's most outstanding player and the Eddie Powers Trophy as the league's leading scorer. Locke was also named the Canadian Hockey League player of the Year after scoring 63 goals and 88 assists for 151 points in 66 games.


Norm Bryan, a longtime scout with the Peterborough Petes was honoured with the Bill Long Award for distinguished service. Bryan is the 11th winner of the award that was named for the former coach and manager of the Niagara Falls Flyers, Ottawa 67's and London Knights.

OHL Goaltender of the Year - Andy Chiodo

Bobby Smith Award - Dustin Brown

Matt Leyden Trophy - Brian Kilrea

Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy - Corey Locke

Max Kaminsky Trophy - Brendan Bell

Emms Family Award - Rob Schremp

Red Tilson Trophy - Corey Locke

Bill Long Award - Norm Bryan
