 Plymouth Whalers 3, Windsor Spitfires 2


In Plymouth, Ryan Hayes scored the winning goal late in the third period to lift the Whalers to a 3-2 win over the Windsor Spitfires that tied their playoff series at two games each.

 

Chris Terry and Matt Caria scored in the second period to stake the Whalers to the lead before Dale Mitchell and Eric Wellwood replied to tie the game.

 

Tyler Seguin had two assists and Matt Hackett made 37 saves in the win. Andrew Engelage allowed three goals on 31 shots in the loss.

London Knights 5, Saginaw Spirit 3


In Saginaw, John Tavares scored a goal and added two assists to lead the London Knights to a 5-3 win over the Spirit in one of four games in the OHL playoffs on Tuesday.

 

London completed a four-game sweep of the series and will face the winner of the Plymouth Whalers-Windsor Spitfires series in the Rogers Western Conference Championship series starting next week.

 

Nazem Kadri, Daniel Erlich, John Carlson and Jared Knight also scored for the Knights, who held a 34-18 advantage in shots. Trevor Cann made 15 saves in the win.

 

Joe Pleckaitis, Jack Combs and Kyle Bochek replied for Saginaw and Edward Pasquale allowed five goals on 34 shots.

Belleville Bulls 5, Niagara IceDogs 2

 

In St. Catharines, Eric Tangradi scored four goals and added an assist to power the Belleville Bulls to a 5-2 win over the Niagara IceDogs. The win gives the Bulls a 3-1 lead in the series with Game 5 in Belleville on Thursday.

 

Bryan Cameron also scored and had two assists and Luke Pither also chipped in with two helpers.

 

Patrick Lee and Mathew Sisca replied for Niagara.

 

Mike Murphy made 30 saves in the win while Jeremy Smith surrendered five goals on 48 shots.

Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors 4, Brampton Battalion 3 (OT)

 

In Mississauga, William Wallen scored a powerplay goal almost eight minutes into overtime to lift the St. Michael’s Majors to a 4-3 win over the Brampton Battalion. The win tied the series at two games each.

 

Jordan Mayer, Cameron Gaunce and Casey Cizikas also scored while Kaspars Daugavins and Michael Pelech each had two assists.

 

Matt Duchene, Scott Tanski and Evgeny Grachev - with the tying goal in the last minute of the third period - responded for the Battalion.

 

JP Anderson allowed three goals on 36 shots while Thomas McCollum gave up four goals on 29 shots.
