In Mississauga, Casey Cizikas scored two goals and added an assist to lead the St. Michael's Majors to a 7-3 win over the Barrie Colts in the only game in the OHL playoffs on Monday.
Defenceman Cameron Gaunce scored a goal and added three assists while Jared Gomes and Jesse Messier each contributed a goal and two assists. Michael Pelech and Corey Bureau also scored in the win, which gave the Majors a 3-0 lead in their opening round Eastern Conference playoff series.
Ryan Gottschalk put the Colts on the board with a powerplay goal midway through the second period and Darren Archibald scored twice early in the third.
Majors' rookie JP Anderson stopped 29 of 32 shots for his third straight playoff win while Michael Hutchinson allowed three goals on nine shots before being relieved by Peter Di Salvo, who surrendered four goals on 24 shots.
The Colts will look to extend the series when they host Game 4 on Thursday.
