Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced the exhibition game schedule for the 2009-10 season.
The schedule features 51 games commencing Saturday August 29, 2009, with two games between the Niagara IceDogs and Erie Otters at 5:00 pm, as well as the Saginaw Spirit taking on the Plymouth Whalers in Brighton, Michigan at 7:00 pm. In addition to the Whalers’ off-site contest, the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors will host two games at alternate venues including the Owen Sound Attack on Thursday September 3 at 7:00 pm in Milton, ON, as well as the Peterborough Petes on Sunday September 6 at 2:00 pm in Oakville, ON. Other alternate venue contests take place on Friday September 11 at 7:00 pm when the Attack play the defending Eastern Conference Champion Brampton Battalion in Orangeville, ON. On Saturday September 12 at 7:00 pm the London Knights take on the Whalers in St. Thomas, ON.
The exhibition schedule also features two CHL inter-league matchups. The Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL take on the Ottawa 67’s for two games on Friday September 4 at 7:30 pm, and again on Sunday September 6 at 2:00 pm. The Kitchener Rangers will also travel to QMJHL territory where they will play two games against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies on Saturday September 5 at 7:30 pm and again on Sunday September 6 at 4:00 pm.
The defending OHL and MasterCard Memorial Cup Champion Windsor Spitfires begin their exhibition schedule on Thursday September 3 at 7:00 pm when they host the Sarnia Sting.
