In the month Locke was selected as a game star six times and he was also the OHL's Player of the Week for the week ending October 21, 2002. Selected by Ottawa in the fourth round of the 2000 OHL Priority Selection, Locke is the OHL's leading scorer with 33 points on 13 goals and 20 assists.

Christensen, the Western Hockey League's Western Conference Player of the Month, recorded 30 points on 11 goals and 16 assists in 16 games. Selected as the WHL's Eastern Conference Player of the Month, Ford posted a 1.96 goals against average and a .921 save percentage in 11 games.
The nominees from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League were Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens and Marc-Andre Fleury of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. Parenteau's 38 points on 15 goals and 23 assists in 20 games earned Offensive Player of the Month honours. The QMJHL's Defensive Player of the Month, Fleury recorded a 2.46 goals against average and a .938 save percentage in 19 games.
