Scarborough, ON - The Canadian Hockey League is the largest development hockey league in the world with 59 teams in nine Canadian provinces and four American states. The CHL is made up of the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and during the 2010/11 season, welcomed almost 10 million fans into its buildings.
The Canadian Hockey League/Ontario Hockey League are inviting applications for the position of Manager, Video and Web Content.
Main Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
Developing a CHL/OHL Video Program
- Creating a strategy to ensure that the CHL Network is where fans go to access league/team videos
- Identifying new opportunities for leagues/teams
Working with National & Regional Broadcasters to Source Content for Leagues/Clubs
• Developing best practices and sharing information with members
• Source features produced by network partners and uploading them onto the CHL Network.
• Distributing those features to all leagues/clubs to be shown on video boards
Creating Unique Content to the CHL Network
• Plays of the Week
• Players of the Week (Month, Year)
• Player/Alumni/Coach/GM/Prospect/Official Profiles
• CHL Import/OHL Priority Selection Programming
• Recruitment Tools
• Shooting and editing features as requested at CHL National Events, NHL Draft, Hockey Canada events and at significant OHL games
Working with Hockey Operations Department
• Providing Video Clips as required for officials development and other hockey operation needs
Qualifications and Experience
- Proficient with Video Editing Software
- Proficient with Digital Video Equipment
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office are essential
- Creative, leadership, financial management and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Being Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset
