67’s Take Game 2 of Rogers Eastern Conference Championship

The Ottawa 67’s evened up the Eastern Conference championship series with a 7-4 win over the Niagara IceDogs on Sunday afternoon.

Nicholas Foglia decided to go forward with the face off at 7:39 of the first. His shot beat an unsuspecting Mark Visentin giving the 67’s a 1-0 lead. Cody Ceci capitalized on the power play with a shot from the point to extend the lead to 2-0. Dalton Smith took a pass from Sean Monahan while shorthanded and walked in beating Visentin to go up 3-0. After Shane Prince made it 4-0 the IceDogs got on the score sheet. Alex Friesen was set up by Agozzino with a nice backhand pass for his seventh of the playoffs.

Brett Ritchie got his stick on a Jamie Oleksiak shot 2:20 into the second period cutting the 67’s lead in half. Less than two minutes later Dougie Hamilton picked up the loose puck off a scramble and slapped home his third of the playoffs bringing the IceDogs within one. Just 60 seconds later the 67’s regained a two goal lead when Mike Cazzola scored off of a nice feed from Shane Prince. Sean Monahan’s seventh of the playoffs would make it 6-3 at the end of the second.

The teams exchanged goals in the third period to make the final score 7-4. Watch the highlights
